Ghana: Tanko, Braye urge caution as title race heats up

Medeama SC are inches away from lifting their second Ghana Premier League title with two games to end the current season. The Mauve and Yellow sit at the top of the league log with 59 points, two points better than defending champions GoldStars from 32 games.

Despite the points advantage, Medeama forward Kingsley Braye has called on his teammates to remain focused as the club closes in on the Ghana Premier League title.

‘We are not champions yet’: Braye

“We are not yet champions, so we want to work hard and win the two remaining matches,” Braye told Medi TV. “We don’t know what will happen, but I would love to score again against Heart of Lions,” Braye added.

Medeama will now turn their attention to a difficult fixture against Heart of Lions at the Tarkwa TnA Park on Sunday, May 17. Head coach of Medeama Ibrahim Tanko equally urged caution as they seek to clinch their second top-flight title.

“We still have some games to play, so we need to concentrate on the next one.“We have to be very careful and go all the way to be sure we win the league. “So definitely we are going to take the rest of the games seriously,” Tanko told Medi TV.

With only two matches left in the campaign, Medeama remain favourites to lift the Ghana Premier League trophy.
