Ghana Premier League: Medeama win to keep title chase alive

The title race for the Ghana Premier League went up in flames with leaders Medeama winning in match week 32 on Sunday.

Medeama picked all three points after beating Basake Holy Stars 1-0 at their backyard while GoldStars’ walkover against Hohoe United tightened the chase at the top.

Medeama now lead the log on 59 points with GoldStars following closely in second with 57 points after 32 games played.

One of the top liners of the weekend between record FA Cup holders, Hearts of Oak and two-time holders Aduana FC ended goalless at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Vision FC and Heart of Lions increased their survival chances with victories; Lions beat Samartex 3-0 and Vision recorded the same score line at home to Karela United.

Berekum Chelsea’s dream of escaping relegation was boosted by a 1-0 victory over Dreams fc at the Golden City Park.

Asante Kotoko made an easy work of already relegated Eleven Wonders with a 2-0 win where All Blacks ane Bechem United settled for a 1-1 draw.

Young Apostles concluded the weekend round of fixtures with a 1-0 win at home to Nations FC.
