The Falconets will host the Young Scorchers on 2 May 2026 with the reverse fixture scheduled for Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe on 9 May 2026.
Ahead of the matches, Chombo has selected a strong squad. Notable faces in the squad include winger Sarah Mlimbika and Leticia who also represent Malawi senior national team.
The duo featured for the Malawi senior team in Saturday’s 0-5 semifinal loss to Australia at the FIFA Series in Kenya.
Malawi regrouped for camp training in Blantyre on Monday, 13 April 2026 at Mpira Village in Blantyre. In the opposite camp, Moses Aduku’s Falcons started training last week.
The former Malawi playmaker-turned coach has retained 21 players who featured against Guinea-Bissau in the third-round qualifiers earlier this year.
The Young Scorchers qualified for the final round via an aggregate score of 6-2 over two legs, following a one-all draw with Guinea-Bissau in the first leg.
The squad includes Victoria Mkwala, Fatima Lali and Mayamiko Mkandawire who were on target during the match against Guinea-Bissau.
The overall winner of the two-legged tie between Malawi and Nigeria will qualify for the 2026 FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup final.
The global event will take place in Poland from 27 August to 26 September 2026.
