A distinguished youth product of the Shamuel Academy, Chaiwa first gained senior experience when he joined Zambian outfit Atletico Lusaka on loan in 2022. His rapid ascent in the domestic game caught the eye of European scouts, leading to a permanent move to Swiss giants Young Boys on June 14, 2022, where he initially committed to a four-year contract.
To accelerate his development and ensure consistent playing time, he spent a productive loan spell at Schaffhausen before returning to the fold. His impressive performances eventually paved the way for a permanent switch to the Scottish Premiership, with Chaiwa signing for Hibernian in August 2025 for an undisclosed transfer fee.
On the international stage, Chaiwaβs rise has been equally meteoric. Having progressed through the Zambian U-17 ranks, the tenacious midfielder has already accumulated 16 senior appearances for the Chipolopolo. His career honours already include a Swiss Super League title and a Swiss Cup winner’s medal, both achieved during a highly successful 2022-23 campaign with Young Boys.
