South Africa B team coach Molefi Ntseki has named a 20-man squad for next week’s African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers against Malawi.
The squad features Betway Premiership stars such as Malibongwe Zulu, Terence Mashego, and Jody February of Mamelodi Sundowns, while Kaizer Chiefs have contributed Tebogo Potsane.
Bafana Bafana will travel to Malawi for the CHAN final qualifying round first-leg match at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe on Saturday, May 3. The return leg will be played at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in South Africa on Sunday, May 11.
Bafana Bafana reached the final qualifying round after eliminating Egypt from the competition, which is restricted to home-based players.
Malawi coach Kalisto Pasuwa has named a 25-man squad for the two-legged tie, with nine players coming from FCB Big Bullets.
A notable inclusion is Silver Strikers forward Binwell Katinji, who scored three goals across two games as the Flames beat Comoros 2-0 both home and away in the first round of qualifiers.
The Flames, who have never qualified for the CHAN finals, are expected to begin preparations in Lilongwe on Monday, April 28.
The winner will qualify for the CHAN finals, which are set to be hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda in August 2025.
