Speaking after the match at Kigali Pelé Stadium, the Romanian tactician acknowledged the result but insisted his side fell short of their usual standards, particularly in terms of preparation and execution.
“I think it was not a good game from our side because, in my opinion, we didn’t prepare well what we had to prepare,” Reghecampf said. “We need to be more fresh, more aggressive, and play much better than we did today.”

Despite securing all three points to maintain their strong position at the top of the BK Pro League standings, the coach emphasized that consistent high level performances remain a priority, especially with crucial fixtures ahead.
Reghecampf revealed plans to adjust training schedules and tactical preparation in the coming days, aiming to raise the team’s intensity and sharpness before their next big assignment.
“I will change the plan a little bit for the team and for all the training programs. We have to improve before the next game,” he added.
The former European coach also highlighted the physical and mental demands of maintaining a winning streak, noting that pushing players to deliver results every few days is a challenging task.
“It’s not easy to win every game. To push the team every three, four or five days and keep them at this level is not simple,” he explained. “But I’m happy with the work we are doing because the team is winning and performing better.”
While expressing satisfaction with the overall progress of his squad, Reghecampf avoided direct comparisons with other teams, instead stressing respect for all opponents in the league.
“We have to respect every team in the championship. I see football in a different way, and I know how I want my team to play,” he noted.
Looking ahead, the Al Hilal coach also touched on logistical uncertainties surrounding upcoming fixtures, including the highly anticipated clash against APR on 7th May. He expressed hope that the match would be staged at Amahoro Stadium to allow more fans to attend.
“It’s a derby between first and second place, and I think it would be better for football and for the fans to play there,” he said, while confirming that no final decision has been made.
Reghecampf further revealed uncertainty regarding the start of the Sudanese domestic league, adding that the team is still awaiting confirmation of the schedule.
With momentum on their side but improvements still required, Al Hilal will now turn their focus to refining their performances as they chase silverware on multiple fronts.
