The Durban-based side has urged its fans to build on their recent massive patronage during the games against giants, including against Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.
“Richards Bay Football Club would like to thank all the supporters who have shown up in large numbers at uMhlathuze Stadium to support the club in all our matches, especially the big games against Kaizer Chiefs FC, Orlando Pirates FC, and Mamelodi Sundowns FC,” reads the club’s statement.
“We also commend the supporters for their good behaviour in all these matches, as no incidents have been reported. The large number of supporters who attended our match on Sunday, 27 April 2026, against Mamelodi Sundowns matched the support of our opponents.”
The Natal Rich Boys will certainly have a say on who wins the 2025-2026 PSL/Betway Premiership title after frustrating favourites, Buccaneers and Masandawana, in back-to-back weeks.
The Durban-based minnows stunned Chiefs via a 1–0 victory on 3 March 2026 before holding Pirates to a two-all draw on 10 April then Sundowns 0-0 last Sunday, 27 April 2026.
The result saw Miguel Cardoso’s side failing to reclaim top spot from the Buccaneers who also shared the spoils with their Soweto rivals also on Sunday.
Following the draw with the Betway Premiership holders, Richards Bay occupy 10th place in the Betway Premiership standings with 31 points from 26 games.
The Durban-based side says it is aiming for a second successive top eight finish in the PSL log table.
The side, which Ronnie Gabriel and Papi Zothwane coaches, returns to action on 6 May for a clash with Polokwane City at uMhlathuze Sports Complex.
Before that game, Rise and Shine welcome Masandawana on Wednesday, 29 April in Limpopo followed by a reverse fixture between the same two sides on Sunday in Pretoria.
