Sarr’s milestone goal saw him become the first Palace player to reach 20 goals in a season in all competitions since Glenn Murray when the Eagles were promoted from the Championship in 2012-13.
Speaking to Premier League Productions as quoted by Palace website, Mitchell said of the Senegal forward: “He’s a machine.
“He plays every game, he runs everywhere and he scores, so we’re just glad that we have him on our side, and hopefully it continues to the end of the season.”
Meanwhile, Sarr won his second consecutive title thanks to his sensational form in front of goal in April. Fans voted the Senegalese striker Player of the Month for April.
Sarr scored in all three of the Eagles’ European games in April; netting headers in both games against Serie A giants Fiorentina, as well as a counter-attack goal, the fastest in Conference League history, away against Shakhtar to help his team qualify for the final.
Adding to that his winning goal against the Ukrainian team in the second leg last week, Sarr has moved to the top of the Conference League Golden Boot standings – with a five-goal lead over the nearest active player in the competition, Alemão of Rayo Vallecano.
Having also won the Player of the Month award for March, this is the fourth award Sarr has won since joining Crystal Palace. Sarr received 38.5% of your votes, with Daichi Kamada (27.0%) and Jaydee Canvot (24.1%) also receiving high scores.
