Vipers SC are set to be crowned Uganda Premier League champions for the seventh time when they host Soltilo Bright Stars at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, in their final league game of the 2024/25 season on Saturday afternoon.

Having already secured the title, the Venoms will look to sign off in style in front of their home fans before lifting the coveted trophy.

The match will also serve as a dress rehearsal for the Stanbic Uganda Cup final against KCCA, slated for May 31, which will officially close the domestic season.

While the spotlight shines on Vipers' crowning moment, drama is expected elsewhere as four teams battle for the final slots in the top eight, a position that guarantees participation in the pre-season FUFA Super 8 tournament.

Kitara FC, currently in seventh place with 41 points, are not assured of safety and must navigate a tricky away fixture against Mbale Heroes.

Maroons, just one point behind in eighth place, host Mbarara City in Luzira and need nothing less than victory to secure a successive top-half finish.

Express FC, sitting ninth with 39 points, face a high-stakes derby against KCCA at Nakivubo. The Red Eagles must win and hope that both Maroons and Kitara slip up to sneak into the Super 8 spots.

UPDF, level on points with Express will also have an eye on the top eight as they welcome BUL FC to Bombo. BUL are unbeaten in the second round and pose a formidable challenge.

Meanwhile, NEC will hope to cement their second-place finish when they host URA at Lugogo, while SC Villa, having surrendered the title to Vipers, visit Lugazi. Relegated Wakiso Giants will look to end their top-flight stay on a high when they face Police FC at Wakissha.

All matches will kick off simultaneously at 3pm [EAT] in what promises to be a thrilling conclusion to the season.
