Zamalek assess Juan Bezerra fitness ahead of CAFCC semifinal clash

Zamalek have confirmed that Brazilian forward Juan Bezerra remains doubtful for Friday’s crucial CAF Confederation Cup semi-final second leg against CR Belouizdad due to injury concerns.

The White Knights will host the Algerian side at Cairo International Stadium in the return leg of the semi-final, holding a narrow advantage after winning the first leg in Algeria.

According to an official statement from Zamalek, Bezerra took part only in rehabilitation training during Thursday’s session at the Military Academy ground as he continues recovery from a hamstring strain suffered during the first-leg encounter in Algiers.

The Brazilian attacker had played a decisive role in that away victory, scoring the only goal of the match to hand Zamalek a valuable 1-0 lead before the return fixture in Cairo.

Bezerra’s fitness remains under medical evaluation, with the club set to make a final decision on his availability ahead of kickoff.

The White Knights head into the decisive second leg in a favorable position, knowing that their first-leg advantage gives them the upper hand as they seek a place in the CAF Confederation Cup final.
