South Africa’s TS Galaxy FC coach Adnan Beganovic has reacted to his shock dismissal alongside Technical Director Nermin Bašić on Thursday, 23 April 2026.
The Rockets’ management pulled the trigger on the duo following the team’s slump in form after losing three Betway Premiership games on the trot. The team lies fifth from the bottom of the log table.

Speaking to the South African Broadcasting Corporation’s SportsNightAmplified on Thursday, 23rd April 2026, the Bosnian was visibly devastated as he narrated the circumstances leading to the exit.
“I don’t know what to say: to be sad or not, but it is obviously part of the job. Our job is like that,” said Beganovic, his voice choking with emotion. “Our job is like that.”
The youthful mentor suggested that he saw the axe coming following a tense meeting with the club’s management on Monday in the aftermath of Sunday’s 1-0 defeat at the hands of Richards Bay.
“After Richards Bay game, we had a meeting on Monday,” said the coach. “We spoke about everything. You could feel that something was wrong, and when I arrived in the office, I saw that it was gone. In the end, I accept everything and start to talk about how we can move forward to be happy and to be honest.”
The 43-year-old has since asked TS Galaxy for a professional end to their affair in recognition of his service to the club. He leaves the team hours before it faces Durban City in the Nedbank Cup final on Saturday.
With a few Betway Premiership games to the finish line, Beganovic suggested that he could have loved to finish the season.
“My only wish in coming forward is to finish my era in TS Galaxy exactly how I started,” said the coach.”
“Yes, I want to be honest. I want to be fair. Even if I need to terminate my contract, I want to be fair. Everything needs to be on the top level as gentlemen. If you need to cancel a contract, ok, let’s do that but on a very fair football side. Let’s go and we move forward.”
The Bosnian stabilised the ship to finish in a respectable fifth place in the standings last season when he succeeded then his boss, Sead Ramovic.
However, the exit of key players such as Khulumani Ndamane to Mamelodi Sundowns, Puso Dithejane to Chicago Fire in America and Samukelo Kabini (Molde FK, Norway) took its toll on the thin squad.
Bernard Parker has since been named the caretaker coach of the Rockets.
