Cameroon international Bryan Mbeumo was among the players feted during Brentford’s 2024/25 end-of-season awards on Sunday night.

While Mikkel Damsgaard was named both the Supporters' Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year, Mbeumo collected up the Goal of the Season gong for his superb volley against Tottenham Hotspur.

During the goal scored in September, Mbeumo volleyed the Bees in front inside the first 30 seconds following a Keane Lewis-Potter cross from the left wing.

Seven days after Mbeumo's goal at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - a game that ended in a 3-1 defeat - he volleyed in against West Ham United at the Gtech Community Stadium, again inside a minute, a new Premier League record.

Speaking after receiving the award, Mbeumo said: "That was when we started to score really quickly in games so I told my friends to be ready quickly because we were going to score early, and I did. It was a great cross from Keane and a great goal.”

On his 2024/25 season so far, he explained: “I'm always someone who says that they want to do better than they've done before, and that's what I've done, so I'm really happy with it.”

With one game to play, the Indomitable Lion has set a new club record for the most goal participations in a Premier League campaign (26 - 19 goals and seven assists), surpassing Ivan Toney’s 24 from the 2022/23 season.
