Simba SC are encouraging their fans to wear red when they host RS Berkane in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup final at New Amaan Complex in Zanzibar on Sunday, May 25.

With Simba trailing 2-0 from the first leg at Berkane Municipal Stadium, they have turned to their fans for a much-needed boost to help overturn the deficit in the decider.

“Sunday is Red Day and wear your official Simba jersey. If you don’t have one—any red shirt will do. But show up red and proud,” said Ally. “The days of waiting until 2053 for another final are over. Just like we dominated the quarterfinals for seven straight years, finals are now our standard. This is Simba’s new era.”

On switching the game from Benjamin Mkapa Stadium to Amaan, Ally said: “We made every effort for this match to be held at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium. Our main intention was to ease the financial load for our fans, especially those travelling from far regions.

“We have fans who have already bought travel tickets from remote areas. Playing at Benjamin Mkapa would have allowed up to 60,000 fans to attend this historic match.”

He concluded: “Our mission remains intact to win CAF Confederation Cup. Now that our request has failed, there is no time to complain. We must begin preparations for Sunday’s final.”
