Ghana: Kotoko call for calm amidst supporters rage

Asante Kotoko’s current status under interim head coach, Prince Owusu in the Ghana Premier League has not been the best judging from results of their last six games.

The Porcupine Warriors have recorded three losses, two draws and one victory.

Their biggest defeat came last weekend at the Tarkwa TnA Park where they failed to reply to Medeama’s 4-0 score line in week 29.

As a result of their luckluster performances, the team’s supporters have consistently registered their displeasure with the club’s board forced to call for calm.

In a statement signed by Communications Director Sarfo Duku (Esq.), the board and management of the club acknowledged the disappointment of fans.

Kotoko have collected five points in six games

“The board and management… acknowledge the concerns raised by our supporters regarding the absence of a substantive head coach and the team’s recent poor results,” the statement said.

Management confirmed that processes are underway to appoint a permanent head coach whose philosophy aligns with the club’s long-term vision.

“The future of this club remains our top priority, and we are committed to making the right choices moving forward,” the statement added.

Porcupine Warriors, who have struggled for consistency in the ongoing Ghana Premier, will have a walkover in Matchday 30 fixture against Hohoe United who withdrew from the league.
