The Scottland FC inspiration received the award at a ceremony which the Footballers Union of Zimbabwe Player organised in Harare on Tuesday.
Fellow professional footballers in Zimbabwe’s Castle Lager PSL voted for the 35-year-old former Sundowns attacker for having performed exceptionally well during the month of March.
Billiat earned the inaugural award after scoring four goals in March, two braces against FC Hunters and Manica Diamonds FC.
In his acceptance speech after receiving the award’s miniature trophy, the discarded Warriors winger was once again a model of humility.
“This award is for all of us who have been pushing each other,” he said in front of fellow Scottland FC players. “I just want to thank the club, the coaches and the players for keeping on working hard towards our goal.Hopefully, there is more to come from the club.”
The discarded Warriors winger has since opened his scoring chapter for April.
The 2016 South Africa’s PSL Player of the Year scored for the Zimbabwe league defending champions when they edged MWOS FC 1-0 last Saturday.
The sole strike registered at Ngoni Stadium took the tally of the ex-Kaizer Chiefs forward to five league goals in eight Castle Lager PSL games, just one behind the leading scorer.
The three points pushed Scottland FC three places up the ladder into fourth, two points behind pacesetters CAPS United. MWOS FC remain in sixth position of the 18-member log table.
The next league assignment for Mapeza’s wards will be a home meeting with 2024 Castle Lager PSL winners Simba Bhora on 2 May 2026.
