The Rwanda Premier League Board (RPLB) has officially announced the launch of the BK PRO League Awards 2026, an annual ceremony aimed at recognising and celebrating the best performers from the Rwanda Premier League season.
Following the success of the 2025 edition, which highlighted top talents including APR FC’s Niyigena Clément, who was named Player of the Season, and former APR head coach Darko Nović, who won the Best Coach award, the 2026 edition of the Rwanda Premier League Awards returns with greater ambition and an upgraded format.
This year’s ceremony will be organised in partnership with MA AFRICA Ltd, an experienced international event management company. The collaboration is expected to elevate the professionalism and presentation of the awards, reflecting the growing stature of Rwandan football on the continental stage.
The prestigious event is scheduled to take place on June 1, 2026, at the Mövenpick Hotel in Kacyiru, starting at 18:00 local time. Organisers say the gala will bring together football stakeholders, club representatives, players, coaches, media professionals, and invited guests to celebrate excellence across the league.
Several key categories will be contested during the awards night. These include Player of the Season, Best Coach of the Season, Top Scorer of the Season, Best Goalkeeper of the Season, Best Young Player of the Season (reserved for players born after June 30, 2005), Best Goal of the Season, and the Best XI of the Season, which will recognise the most consistent performers in each position.
One of the major highlights of this year’s ceremony will be a special grand prize. The Player of the Season will receive a car valued at RWF 15,000,000, sponsored by ePoBox, adding extra prestige and motivation for players competing throughout the campaign.
The selection process for all categories will be designed to ensure transparency and credibility. Winners will be determined through a combined voting system involving the general public, an expert panel, sports media professionals, as well as club captains and head coaches.
The Rwanda Premier League Board has expressed its appreciation to its key partners, including the Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA), Bank of Kigali, and ePoBox, for their continued support in developing and promoting the league.
Organisers say the BK PRO League Awards 2026 will not only reward individual excellence but also reflect the continued growth and professionalisation of football in Rwanda, as the league continues to attract higher standards of competition and recognition.
