Simba SC announce affordable ticket prices ahead of high stakes Kariakoo Derby

Excitement is steadily building ahead of another thrilling chapter of the Kariakoo Derby, with Simba SC officially announcing ticket prices for their upcoming NBC Premier League clash against arch-rivals Young Africans SC.

The much-anticipated encounter is scheduled to kick off at 6:00 PM on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at the Major General Isamuhyo Stadium, where Simba SC will host their traditional rivals in a match expected to draw massive national attention.

Fans across the country are still buzzing following Simba’s recent triumph in the Muungano Cup, where they edged out Yanga in the final. That victory has added extra intensity to this fixture, as Yanga head into the derby determined to respond, while Simba aim to assert their dominance once again.

With anticipation reaching fever pitch, Simba have now moved to ensure supporters can secure their places early by unveiling ticket prices structured to accommodate a wide range of fans. The club has categorized tickets into three main tiers, balancing affordability with access to premium seating.

According to the official announcement by Simba SC, regular stands (Mzunguko) will cost Tsh 15,000, while VIP B tickets are priced at Tsh 30,000. Fans seeking a more premium matchday experience can purchase VIP A tickets at Tsh 50,000.

The pricing strategy reflects Simba’s intention to maximise fan turnout while maintaining accessibility, particularly given the limited capacity of the Isamuhyo Stadium. The venue, which is currently serving as Simba’s home ground, is expected to host a relatively smaller crowd compared to larger venues, making early ticket purchases crucial.

“FOR EVERY FAN” – AHMED ALLY EXPLAINS SIMBA SC’S DERBY PRICING STRATEGY

Speaking during a press briefing on May 1, Simba’s Head of Information and Communications, Ahmed Ally, confirmed that ticket sales had officially commenced and urged supporters not to delay.

“We have not set very high ticket prices because we want every Simba fan to have a chance to enter the stadium. Given the capacity of Major General Isamuhyo Stadium, we could have set higher prices, but we chose to keep them friendly,” said Ally.

His remarks underline the club’s broader objective of creating an inclusive matchday atmosphere, ensuring that as many supporters as possible can witness one of the most significant fixtures on the Tanzanian football calendar.

The derby carries enormous weight beyond bragging rights, with both teams still firmly in contention in the league title race. For Simba SC, the match represents an opportunity to build momentum after their recent cup success, while Yanga will be desperate to bounce back and keep their own ambitions alive.

As kickoff approaches, demand for tickets is expected to surge, driven by the fierce rivalry and the high stakes involved. Supporters are therefore being encouraged to act quickly to avoid disappointment, as the limited seating capacity means tickets are unlikely to last long.

With both teams in strong form and emotions running high, all signs point to a packed and electric atmosphere at Isamuhyo Stadium. The stage is now set not just for a classic derby showdown but for a match that could have a decisive impact on the outcome of the 2025/26 NBC Premier League season.
