Kenyan Premier League giants Gor Mahia have been promised Ksh5million if they manage to reclaim the FKF Premier League title for the 2025-26 season.
According to a statement from the club website, chairman Ambrose Rachier has thrown down a massive financial incentive to drive his side over the line in the final stretch of the league.

Rachier has pledged a KSh.5 million bonus should Gor Mahia seal this year’s championship. The sum, chairman confirmed, will be split between the playing unit and the technical bench.
“In an additional move to lift spirits, Rachier also announced the doubling of the winning allowance to KSh10,000 for each player per victory,” read part of the statement.
“The payments have already been honoured in the club’s last six fixtures, with players receiving the cash after each win. The promises were warmly received by the squad.”
Gor Mahia currently sitting at the top of the standings with 68 points, four clear of arch-rivals AFC Leopards. With the finish line in sight, every point and every win carries immense weight.
Meanwhile, Gor Mahia coach Charles Akonnor has termed the club’s 3-1 win against Murang’a Seal as an important victory for the side seeking to clinch their 22nd title in history of the Kenyan league.
“The win was very important for us. We knew what the opponents can do, they like to have the ball and play but we were not too worried. We just needed to be compact and press,” Akonnor said.
“We started very well in the first half, but we gave them a goal. At the break, we talked to the players, prepared their mental toughness and made them aware.
“Before this match, AFC closed the gap to one point and if you are not careful, players who are not strong mentally can give up. But they were composed, we spoke to them and mentally they were ready to deliver.”
While Gor Mahia will face Mara Sugar in their nest assignment, AFC Leopards will come up against APS Bomet.
