Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz has expressed delight in being part of the West African nation’s football ecosystem.
The Portuguese met Sports and Recreation Minister, Kofi Adams on Thursday, a meeting that heralds his unveiling at 1:00pm at Alisa hotel.

In a short speech, the former Egypt head coach expressed his desire to lead the Black Stars.
“To be part of Ghana’s sports and family is an honour and a privilege for me,” Carlos Queiroz said.
“I know I have a strong African roots and I was born and raised in Africa Mozambique so to lead an African country [like] Ghana during the World Cup is an unforgettable memory in my life.
“Thank you for your support, to be part of the family.”
Queiroz, who signed a four-months contract, will outline his technical philosophy ahead of this summer’s FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
Ghana will be making a fifth appearance at the Mundial and have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia.
The 73-year-old brings in a rich experience to the Ghana squad having managed seven different national teams.
He led South Africa (2002), Portugal (2010) and Iran (2014, 2018, and 2022) to the FIFA World Cup.
The Mozambique born tactician previously coached Qatar, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Colombia and Egypt, guiding the Pharaohs to the finals of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations where they lost to Senegal in the finals in Cameroon.
At club level, he has also managed Portugal side, Sporting CP, the New York/New Jersey Metrostars in Major League Soccer and Spanish club Real Madrid.
He had two spells as Alex Ferguson’s assistant manager at English club Manchester United.
He is, however, yet to win a major trophy as a head coach of a club or senior team.
